Dear friends of M.R.N

We would like to welcome back our MRN family. Thank you all for your support and patience while we waited for God to answer our prayers. As you may remember, we have been praying for the sale of the Adyniec family home in Wisconsin so Gary and his family could come back to Florida and take over the Missionary Resource Network ministry and run the Thrift Store. That prayer was finally answered. Gary and his family moved back to Florida in Feb. 2009.

Gary was our first choice in running the ministry ever since Jill and I have been called back into the mission field. Many of you may remember Gary and his wife Vicki as they helped in starting the ministry 9 years ago. In fact Gary and his daughters painted the inside of the thrift store and Vicki was the first official employee . Gary was the first volunteer for MRN before the store even opened and has always been actively involved even while in Wisconsin.

Gary is now the Director of the ministry and I am again the president and Executive Director. You can view the changes to the Board of Directors by clicking on the link at the top of the page. We are glad to say that 5 of the original board members have been with us over 8 years. Pastor Orlando no longer maintains any involvement with MRN or the Thrift store and is now running a church called Calvary Chapel En Espanol in Coral Springs.

Gary officially took over management details starting June 1st 2009, and has been busy getting things in order for the future of MRN. His wife Vicki is now running the Thrift Store and we have seen God Blessing their efforts in significant ways. With the work of Gary and Vicki, sales are up 22% over the first part of 2009, this is even true in what is historically our slowest month of the year. The two of them have been a blessing beyond measure and have restored the true spirit of the ministry. We strongly considered closing the store at the lease end in Sept. 2009. But have signed on for another 3 years. There is now a link on this page to check out some of the items at the store. If you live in the neighborhood, stop in and say hello and welcome them back.

Since coming back, Gary has been able to connect another missionary with the contacts needed to get and ship another container to Haiti, as well as supplying more than 2000 lbs of clothes. We also have two more requests for containers as well. He has also been able to rescue a missionary family from the airport where they spent more than 7hrs waiting, and managed to get them a vehicle to get them from Florida to Alabama for a speaking engagement.

We will have regular updates from both the MRN and Amazon Reach Ministries. We also ask for your continued prayers for housing for the Adyniec family as they are now commuting 170 miles a day round trip to operate the thrift store. Thank you again for your support and prayers for the ministry.

†in His Spirit† Joe

#1.) We have a contract on our house and we should close in January ( It’s sold! Not rented).

#2.) Our situation with the donated boat we were reselling has changed drastically. We can now sell at a lower price and it is moored at a free dock.

#3.) We have made our final truck payment and the ministry now owns its vehicle free and clear.

#4.) We were able to buy a used forklift for $750 and a few repairs. Very important since we have been so busy.

Many people have asked what will happen to the ministry here when Jill and I are gone. It will continue in every way. The man we first introduced as my replacement 6 months ago will not be staying. God has provided a new person in Orlando Arguelles. Orlando and I have known each other for 11 years and in many ways our lives have followed similar paths. Orlando is a staff Pastor and Worship leader at Calvary Chapel in Coral Springs. His wife is Elizabeth, and kids, Josh, Alexis, and Christian.

All the funds were greatly needed. I do apologize that half of you got a newsletter insert that had the wrong expiration dates. For a donation to be eligible for matching, it must be received and deposited before the end of the year, so December 20th is the deadline for mail ins. Thanks again!

October and November has been some the busiest seasons we have ever had. The Ministry shipped 3 full containers. One went to Haiti, and one went to the Dominican Republic. The Caribbean, South and Central America have been the focus of the ministry for years. But we have sent our first container to Africa. Missionaries from a local Calvary Chapel Church moved to the Ivory Coast Africa. We even put their Jeep inside the container. The picture to the right shows that once the car was loaded we had just 2 fingers of clearance.

If you have read the ministry newsletter before, you know this is the business side of the page. As we venture to take on bigger goals,- bigger challenges await and we realize we can’t do it alone. We humbly invite you to partner with us. Besides some of the financial things below, we are desperate for volunteers at the Ministry Thrift Store. Think of the Store as a living warehouse for donations. This year we filled six, forty-foot containers with the needs of missionaries in 3 countries, With smaller shipments going to many more. What we need are volunteers to come to the store 4-7 hrs a week or one (7 hr) Saturday a month. Please contact us for details. Don’t wait.

Our desire is connect with each one of you before we leave. We will be planning a get together in January so we can fellowship together before we leave. At the moment our cell phone numbers are the same. Our house phone and address have changed. For the next 9 weeks our home phone will be 561-395-7608. The ministry address will remain the same and all mail should continue to go there.

During the next 9 weeks we will be available to speak in churches, Bible studies, Sunday schools and Home fellowships. Please call us with opportunities. With the next newsletter we will have a new brochures, prayer cards, and informational packets for churches, foundations and donors.

Once in Brazil, we will be moving forward with our plans to establish a base of operations for our future riverboat. This may take up to a year before we are able to buy a boat. For outreaches and visiting groups we will be “renting” a boat from the Brazilian Bible Society until we get our own. During the development phase we will also be involved in training churches in missionary care. Brazil is sending lots of missionaries but many are returning due to lack of care and resources.

When in Brazil we will be living in a missionary community called MICEBE. This will give us the greatest opportunity to network with other local ministries, it will also be a time of adjusting to the culture and the Portuguese language.

We were praying for this in the newsletter and got the conformation right after printing. This is why you all got those yellow pledge slips tucked into the envelope. The Amazon project has a start up budget of over $200,000 so it is blessings like this that will help it all happen. But please keep in mind, the matching grant is still in effect.

Our warehouse is so full with donations we can hardly walk in it. But we have 2 containers scheduled to go out this month. This is what the ministry does well and we get a great amount of satisfaction when a full container ships out. Over the years we have been able to send well over a half million pounds of missionary aid. We have also hit another milestone. Aug 20th was our 7th year anniversary for the ministry and the 6th year anniversary of the thrift store. It is truly hard to believe.
